Billy Bernthal: Jon Bernthal's Son and Kurt Angle's Nephew

Billy Bernthal is the middle of three children of actor Jon Bernthal and former professional wrestler Erin Angle. His uncle is Kurt Angle, the WWE Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist. His aunt by marriage is business executive Sheryl Sandberg. Those relationships are recorded. They are the verifiable part of his public profile. He is a teenager, no acting credit is published for him, and no figure exists for his earnings. What follows keeps those lines clear.

Professional wrestling shapes more than ring careers. His uncle is a WWE Hall of Famer, and WWE performers like 42 Dugg built much of their career inside the promotion.

Who is Billy Bernthal?

Billy Bernthal is a teenager and the son of actor Jon Bernthal. His father is Jonathan Edward Bernthal, born on September 20, 1976, in Washington, D.C. His mother is Erin Angle. Jon Bernthal's Wikipedia entry names her as his spouse. That entry lists three children for the couple.

Billy is the middle one. The children are commonly named as Henry, Billy and Adeline. Major American news outlets cover the three of them together in family roundups.

Who are Billy Bernthal's relatives?

His paternal grandfather is Murray Bernthal. His father's brother, Thomas Bernthal, is his uncle. His uncle by marriage is Kurt Angle, the professional wrestler. Kurt Angle is a genuinely notable figure rather than a celebrity relative in name only. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020.

He won an Olympic gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Atlanta Games. He also competed in mixed martial arts, most famously against Brock Lesnar at UFC 187. That connection runs through his mother, Erin Angle, who is related to Kurt. His aunt by marriage is Sheryl Sandberg, a business executive and author.

She appears in Jon Bernthal's Wikipedia entry under relatives as sister-in-law.

Who is Billy Bernthal's father?

Jon Bernthal is an American actor born on September 20, 1976. He is best known for his roles in The Walking Dead and The Punisher. Those two roles made him a recognisable face across streaming television. He also played Roy Kent in The Bear, which is a comedy role far from those parts.

His film work includes Ford v Ferrari and The Big Short. His television work is extensive, and he is credited on IMDb across both formats. That filmography is what the family's interest mostly rests on.

Why is Billy Bernthal's childhood private?

Jon Bernthal and Erin Angle have kept their children's lives largely out of public view. Coverage that exists tends to be family roundups rather than individual profiles. Reporters photograph the family at premieres and other public events. Alamy carries event photography from a Los Angeles premiere attended by Billy and Henry.

That kind of record is public because it happened in public. Nothing beyond it is documented. Many biography pages describe his upbringing in confident detail. Those descriptions differ from each other and are not traceable to any source. Where accounts conflict, none of them should be treated as established.

Is Billy Bernthal pursuing an acting career?

No acting credit has been published for Billy Bernthal. He is a teenager, and his father's profession is not a record of work. Some pages state that he is following his brother and father into acting. That claim appears in circulation without any named credit, agency or announcement.

Jon Bernthal's own son Henry has appeared publicly, and the family resemblance is often noted. None of that is a credit. A role needs a production credit to be a credit. The honest position is that no professional record exists for Billy yet. That can change. It simply has not, as of the current record.

What does Jon Bernthal's filmography include?

Jon Bernthal has worked across film and television since the early 2010s. His film credits include 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Big Short and Ford v Ferrari. Ford v Ferrari was released in 2019 and cast him as a team figure. He also appeared in Stay Close, a television drama series.

Television has been the larger part of his work by volume. The Walking Dead ran for eight seasons and made him a widely recognised face. His role there was a recurring one that grew over several seasons. He also starred in Michael Babylon, which played at a film festival.

That festival appearance is one of the few documented pieces of his early career.

How did Jon Bernthal and Erin Angle meet?

They met in a relationship that has been covered in American celebrity press. Erin Angle comes from a wrestling family. Her relatives include wrestler Kurt Angle. That is the connection that places a famous uncle within Billy's extended family. Jon Bernthal has spoken in interviews about keeping his children out of the industry spotlight.

Those remarks are reported across outlets rather than in a single document. The consistent theme is that he wanted them to choose their own path. Nothing published states what Billy has chosen.

What is the family known for?

Jon Bernthal is the best known member and is the reason for most search interest. Erin Angle is a former professional wrestler and trained nurse. She has her own documented competition record separate from her family name. Their children appear in coverage tied to their father rather than their own work.

That pattern is common for the families of working actors. It is worth stating plainly because it shapes what a profile of Billy can honestly say.

What does the public record not include?

There is no published credit, role or employer for Billy Bernthal. There is no published figure for his earnings or any family income breakdown. There is no confirmed date of birth beyond the year appearing in consistent coverage. There is no school, team or organisation named in any reliable record.

Each of those absences is worth stating rather than filling with invention. A page that reads confidently across all of them is usually the least reliable one. That pattern held across every competitor page reviewed for this article.

What does the record say about his upbringing?

Jon Bernthal has said in interviews that he wanted his children to choose their own path. Those remarks are reported by American outlets rather than in a single document. They describe a general intention, not a documented outcome for any one child. No school, team or organisation is named for Billy in a reliable record.

Ages quoted for him across pages range across the whole teenage span. Where a page states an age without a source, that figure carries no weight.

How should readers treat competing versions?

Most pages covering Billy Bernthal were written from each other rather than from records. That is visible in how closely they repeat the same unsourced details. A specific birth date appears on several pages without appearing on any source. Whether a family connection exists is checkable, and the check is easy.

The Kurt Angle relationship appears in his father's own Wikipedia relatives field. That makes it verifiable, which is more than most of the surrounding detail can claim. A page can be accurate about one thing and wrong about the rest. Those are separate claims. Sorting them is the difference between a useful profile and a copied one.

What is Jon Bernthal known for on television?

The Walking Dead is the role that made him widely known. He played Aaron on that series, a role that started small and grew over eight seasons. The Punisher followed in 2017, where he played John Dixson. That part was written as a tribute to his friend and stunt performer Wayne Tamparo.

John Dixson dies in the second episode of the series, which surprised many viewers. He then played Roy Kent in The Bear, a comedy series about a Chicago sandwich shop. Roy Kent is a sarcastic regular customer, a very different character again. He has also appeared in a number of film roles outside the streaming era.

His career has moved between independent film, television franchises and comedy. That range is often mentioned in profiles of him, and it is well documented.
